A Ghost can be most helpful

When it comes to ghostwriting, there are good ghosts and bad ghosts. Good ghosts reflect what the author intends and involve the author deeply in the writing of the book. Bad ghosts write the book with little input from the "real" author and attach another person's name to it as the author.

If you're a student, there's no such thing as a good ghost. You are required to take responsibility for every word you write in a term paper or special project because you are being graded for your efforts. Using someone else's talent and passing it off as yours is cheating and deserves to be treated accordingly.

In the world of publishing, the author of record (the person whose name is on the book as the author) is assumed to be the source of all of the ideas and key points in the book. The editor or ghostwriter crafts the themes of the book in a compelling way, under the direction of the author. That's how we work at Griffith Publishing.

Examples of ghostwritten books that work well for our clients include the following—

  • Your life as _____. Multiple interviews, in person and by telephone help you clarify the most revealing or helpful aspects of your life. The book emerges from your input.
  • How to _______. Interviews plus lists, illustrations, examples, and key points comprise this type of practical book.
  • Understanding _______. Doctors often want to convey key points about a certain procedure or ailment. They turn to ghostwriters as a way of provdiing medical information that is clear and interesting. Other technical experts follow the same pattern.

People who have learned English as a second or third language are another category of authors who turn to ghostwriting to produce the words of their book.
